Be Patient

Above all, be patient and wait your turn. Nothing annoys bartenders more than having people whistle or snap their fingers at them to get their attention. The best thing to do is to make eye contact with them to let them know you are ready to order and then wait for them to turn to you.

Most bartenders agree that although they do not enjoy making these drinks they will do so if you are polite and friendly when speaking with them. It can be a good idea to take into consideration how busy the cocktail bar is before placing an order for a drink that is more difficult to make, and to be sure to tip well once the bartender has made it for you.
