Barbabuc is a local restaurant in the medieval town of Novello, furnished with antiques from Piedmont. with the goal to provide guests the opportunity to savor the taste of old country cuisine of the Langhe aeria in a serene environment that recalls moments of harmonious contemplation. An outdoor courtyard with a garden where you and your guests enjoy der meal in a Moorish flavor during the summer. You can also use the terrace of the hotel for small parties of wine and other products of Langa.
The Restaurant and Hotel was created by restoring an ancient patrician home of the 19th century. In the wide hall on the ground floor was the Tarditi town pharmacy located. You can still admire the ancient main entrance door, the authentic wardrobes placed in the current restaurant hall and the nearly vanished inscription of the pharmacy above the main entrance door.
The kitchen, adjacent to the dining room is equipped with the most modern technical elements for the preparation of tasty meals and delicious sweets and allows the chef Franco, more than forty years of experience in the kitchen, assisted by Roberto - the son who tries to follow in the footsteps of his father, to enhance the Langhe recipes without compromising on the preparation of dishes based on fish and Italian dishes that bring back the tradition.
The basic products used in cooking are almost all from the local district: Piedmont cattle meat, vegetables and fruits from local farms, cheese and dairy production in general or national certified, Piedmontese sweets and ice cream from own production, using ancient recipes that highlight the other important product of the Langhe countryside: the hazelnut.
